Annual Entrepreneurs Xmas party on Tuesday 19 December!

Bondi Innovation’s Entrepreneurs Christmas Party is on next Tuesday 19 December! Register now.

We’re expecting over 50 inspiring local entrepreneurs, come to connect, learn and celebrate.

Our all-star panel on The Big Shifts in the Entrepreneurial Landscape, features venture capital and Generative AI leader Annie Liao, founder Jonathan Barouch, who has recently raised a second round of $8 million for his startup Local Measure, and leading early stage investor James Alexander of Galileo Ventures. Mayor of Waverley Paula Masselos will also help welcome the community.

Fun and great connections guaranteed.

What’s coming for Bondi Innovation in 2024

The last two years Bondi Innovation has been ticking over and gradually growing, running our monthly social drinks, working with Waverley Council and the Bondi Chamber of Commerce on the Bondi Innovation Forum (2024 date is 10 May!) and running some tech startup and AI meetups. Now at almost 500 members on our website, almost 500 on our meetup, and over 1700 on our Facebook group.

Next year we will pick up pace. In the planning:

• Innovation Breakfasts in Bondi Junction with top-level panels

• A Founders Lunch to connect the amazing founders in the region

• Our regular social drinks growing up with featured speakers

• Setting up a subscription model that will give us a business model and allow us to create more value for the community

• Getting an amazing person (or people) as part-time team member to help make it all happen

There is plenty more on the list we’d like to do. Getting there depends on the business model getting traction and community engagement.

The vision has stayed true and is worth working towards: connecting the absolutely incredible entrepreneurs and innovators in the beaches, and catalysing a true innovation precinct in Bondi Junction.

Generative AI Leaders lunch report

Our first event in the city was the extremely successful Generative AI Leaders Lunch on 5 December at AWS offices.

A group of Sydney’s top Gen AI leaders gathered to discuss the edge of the space and where we are going. From the discussions we created a summary of insights. If you’re at all interested in the space it is well worth a read.

Hiring: Bondi Innovation events/ community manager

NOTE: this section has been in the newsletter every month with very little response. We’ll be advertising and doing a proper call-out early next year. Let us know if you can think of anyone who would be awesome.

Bondi Innovation has been growing, but slowly given our highly limited time and resources. We are now looking for someone who believes in the vision, wants to help catalyse the incredible innovation potential of Bondi region, and can help grow this to the next level.
